Effect of albuterol and montelukast on the percent decrease in FEV 1 after exercise challenge in 11 children (7-17 years) with exercise-induced asthma (defined as ≥ 15% drop in FEV 1 ). Patients received 3-7 days of montelukast (5-10 mg/d) or 2 puffs of albuterol MDI just before exercise challenge and then were crossed over to the alternate treatment [8].
